According to UK based Thomas Cook, one of the world’s largest travel operators, Turkey ranks 3rd in a recently compiled list of the most popular holiday destinations for Brits.
This is encouraging (if not a little surprising) news, particularly when one considers the ongoing (and in our opinion misguided) perception, amongst some, that Turkey remains an ‘unsafe’ destination. Despite this, Turkish tourism is once again in the ascendancy – revenues generated from inbound tourism in 2017 will be around 30% higher than the $20 billion predicted by the Finance Ministry last month.
It appears thats Brits in particular have rediscovered the love for Turkey – Thomas Cook have announced that pre-bookings for 2018 are very strong, some 80% up year on year overall (and an even higher increase in family bookings).
We all know that Turkey represents very good value for money when compared to other popular destinations – factor in the current weakness of the Turkish Lira and this means that Turkey offers even better value than ever before.
