The number of Turkish properties sold to foreigners last month increased by 15.8% over the same month last year. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), foreigners purchased a total of 1.827 properties in March – the top 5 regions were Istanbul, Antalya, Bursa, Yalova and Trabzon.
The No.1 buyers were Iraqis with 348 purchases, followed by Saudis (181), Iranians (156), Russians (120) and Afghans (108).
These same countries represented the top 5 buyers for all purchases last year, with Iraqis purchasing 3.805 properties, Saudis (3.345), Kuwaitis (1.691), Russians (1.331) and Afghans with 1.078.
For the first 3 months of this year, foreign property purchases have increased by an average of 24.6% compared to the same period in 2017.
