In increased efforts to improve bilateral ties, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım today (Monday) begins a 2 day official visit to the U.K. Speaking ahead of the visit, Yıldırım announced that ‘’we will discuss everything related to bilateral relations between Turkey and the UK.”
Sources stated that the scheduled meeting with UK PM May will focus on increasing economic and trade ties as well as developing greater cooperation in regional developments, particularly in relation to Iraq, Syria, the EU and the Cyprus issue.
During his visit, Yıldırım is expected to hold meetings with international investors as well as attending a lunch with CEOs and senior managers of prominent British companies. He will also talk to the local media about the developments in Europe and the Middle East.
Earlier this this, PM May visited Turkey and was hosted by President Erdoğan. During this visit, Erdoğan underlined that Turkey was looking to increase cooperation with the UK, with a view to pushing trade volumes up to a minimum of $20 billion.
