According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreign tourists entering Turkey in July was 5,075,0961, a year on year increase of 46.4%
In the first 7 months of the year, Turkey welcomed a total of 17.325,410 foreign tourists, an increase of 21.94% compared to the same period last year.
These figures come in the wake of recent announcements by 2 of Europe’s leading tour operators that capacity to Turkey will be increased for next year. UK based Thomas Cook and the Dutch Corendon Group have announced that they will increase Turkish capacity by 15% and 20% respectively for 2018.
Corendon Airlines Chairman, YıldırayKaraer, announced that, since aircraft contracts were signed in August, demand for Turkey from Dutch, German and Belgian tourists continues to increase. General Manager of Diana Travel (Thomas Cook’s Turkey representative) Burak Tonbul also confirmed that demand continues in an upward direction, particularly from Germany and the UK.
