The number of properties purchased by foreigners last month was more than double that seen in the same month in 2017. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the number of units purchased was 3.866, a year on year increase of 129.6%.
Just 3 provinces accounted for 54% of sales, a total of 2.121 units sold. These provinces were Istanbul (1.141 units), Antalya (675 units) and the north-western province of Bursa (305 units).
The top 5 buyers were Iraqis with 944 properties, Iranians (394), Saudis (275), Kuwaitis (271) and Russians (192).
